====== Web Analytics ====== Sentori can integrate with most web analytics packages, so that your emails' links are tagged appropriately without you needing to manually edit each link. By default, Sentori recognises Google Analytics and Webtrends tagging. In addition, you can add a Custom Analytics Package, which allows you to define your own tagging to be applied to links. {{vimeo>117904668?750x423}} ===== Add a domain to track ===== Before you can integrate an analytics package with Sentori, you first need to add the domains that you wish to track to your Account. To do this, go to Account > Web Analytics and add the domain names that you wish to tag in your emails. You can add as many websites to track as you wish and each one can have its own separate analytics tagging. ==== One-off domain tagging ==== Sometimes you may need to apply tagging for a 3rd party website in your email, but it may not be a regular domain that you wish to tag. In this instance, we recommend not adding this domain to your Account; instead, just add the full tagged link to your email when editing the content. ===== Google Analytics ===== To add Google Analytics to your Sentori Account to go Account > Web Analytics and select the website domain that you wish to apply the tagging to by clicking Manage Analytics Packages. On the next screen (Manage Web Analytics), click the Add Google Analytics button. In most cases, the fields will be defaulted correctly: * utm_source will be defaulted to Sentori * utm_medium will be defaulted to Email * utm_campaign will be defaulted to the Name of your email ===== Webtrends ===== To add Webtrends to your Sentori Account to go Account > Web Analytics and select the website domain that you wish to apply the tagging to by clicking Manage Analytics Packages. On the next screen (Manage Web Analytics), click the Add Webtrends button. In most cases, the fields will be defaulted correctly: * WT.mc_ev will be defaulted to Email * WT.mc_id will be defaulted to the Name of your email * Custom Analytics Package If you use a different analytics package to the ones we provide, you can add your own. This allows you to create your own key/value pairs that will be applied to the querystrings of your links. ===== Adding a new Key ===== You can add as many Keys as you need. Each Key has the following properties: ^ Type ^ Description ^ | Key Name | The name of the key as it will appear in the querystring. It should not contain spaces. | |Key Description | Some text to explain what the key is for. | | Key Type | The category of the key. By setting this accurately, Sentori can automatically merge in appropriate values for you. | ==== Types of Key ==== * Unknown - you must specify a default value. * Media Type - Sentori will merge in the text "Email". * Reference - Sentori will merge in the Name of the Email. * Source - Sentori will merge in the text "Sentori". * Email Specific - decides whether a key is set at Account level (all Emails have the same value, e.g. the Source) or whether a unique value should be set for each Email (such as the Reference, where the Email's Name is used).
